The eye-tracking/hand gesture input combination of the Apple Vision Pro is an amazing piece of gear, especially for browsing menus and similar interfaces. It's not very good for video games. There aren't many simple ways to link an iPad or cloud game controller from a third party. This is about to change, though, as accessory maker 8BitDo recently revealed that several of its controllers are now compatible with Vision Pro.

Additional devices that are compatible are the Lite 2, the N30 Pro 2, which is modeled like the NES, and different versions of the SN30 Pro controller. Not only does 8BitDo offer gaming controller connectivity, but it also announced that its Retro Mechanical Keyboard is compatible with AVP. The Vision Pro is compatible with the majority of Bluetooth keyboards right out of the box.
That being said, one of the nicest aspects of the Vision Pro experience is media consumption, so this is fairly major news. Video games are definitely included in that group. Almost all iPad games are compatible with the device. If you're not into playing Cut the Rope on a massive virtual screen, you can get AAA games by integrating the headset with Xbox Cloud Gaming and Nvidia GeForce Now.
8BitDo announced official controller support for Apple devices last year, though this was primarily for smartphones, tablets and Mac computers. The integration was thanks to new controller firmware and Apple's recent iOS 16.3, iPadOS 16.3, tvOS 16.3 and macOS 13.2 updates. It looks like all of the accessories that work with iPhones and iPads also work with the Vision Pro.
